School issues top agenda at forum

School-related issues were at the forefront of a voter forum Tuesday night that featured candidates running for all contested races in Gloucester in the Nov. 3 general election. Approximately 100 citizens attended the forum, which was sponsored by a group called the Citizens for Accountable Government, and held in the colonial courthouse.

Candidates were given an opportunity for an opening statement, where they provided some personal background information and were asked why they thought they may be the best fit for the job. Then, questions were asked of each group of candidates by the moderator, Dick Hixson of Mathews, and later by members of the public in attendance.
