Taylor Lynn Distefano of Gloucester, was inducted into Sigma Alpha Lambda National Leadership and Honors Organization at West Virginia University. The organization promotes and rewards academic achievement and provides members with opportunities for community service, personal development and professional fulfillment.

Travis Fisher of Gloucester, graduated from the Literacy Volunteers of Gloucester program, receiving his GED on June 4, according to program coordinator Dawn Brown.

Mathews High School student Baynham Parker recently completed a four-day leadership development program in Washington, D.C. Themed "Courageous Leadership," the National Young Leaders State Conference helps young scholars take an introspective and highly personalized assessment of their leadership skills and abilities.
