School briefs

Megan Patricia Nichols received a degree in recreation, parks and tourism from Radford University during commencement ceremonies in May. She was also honored as the Outstanding student in Recreation Therapy. Nichols is currently serving an internship with James City County Parks and Recreation.

Shelley Milks of Gloucester, was initiated into the Phi Kappa Phi national honor society on Sept. 25 at Lynchburg College where she is a junior majoring in exercise physiology. Milks is also a starting midfielder for the Lynchburg field hockey team and has tallied four goals and two assists so far this season.

Gloucester High School’s Class of 1980 is planning its 30th reunion for Saturday, Nov. 20. Organizers are still trying to locate class members. For more information contact Martha Zahn Goodman at 404-372-4086 or mgardens@comcast.net.
