School briefs

Andrew Todd Evans received a master of science degree in applied physics and computer science from Christopher Newport University during commencement ceremonies on May 12. He worked full-time as a designer for Huntington Ingalls Industries Newport News Shipbuilding while completing his graduate degree and was recently promoted as a software development analyst. Evans is the son of Nan and Ken Evans of Gloucester.

Katherine E. Milby received a bachelor of science degree in human services from Old Dominion University during commencement ceremonies May 5. She also completed minor studies in psychology and was a dean’s list student for several semesters. Milby will pursue a master’s degree in social work at Norfolk State University this fall. She is the daughter of Debbie Milby of Gloucester and the late Warren F. Milby, and the granddaughter of Byrd S. Milby and the Rev. Ike and Evelyn Addington of Shacklefords.
