Kayla Davis was named the Boys & Girls Club of Gloucester’s Outstanding Youth of the Month for February by the Kiwanis Club of Gloucester and 1st Advantage Credit Union of Gloucester. Kayla volunteers with different projects and club activities on a daily basis and serves as a positive role model for her peers, a release stated.

Jessica Kersey of Gloucester, was named to the fall semester dean’s list with distinction at Virginia Tech where she is a sophomore majoring in chemical engineering. The recognition requires a 3.75 or higher grade point average. Kersey is spending the spring semester studying in Oviedo, Spain. She will travel to Beaumont, Texas, upon her return stateside for a co-op program in chemical engineering with ExxonMobil Corporation.

John Lydon of Saluda, received a master of science degree in educational leadership from Western Governors University during commencement ceremonies held Feb. 11 in Atlanta, Ga.
