Catharine Carter Damron was awarded a doctor of philosophy degree in political science from Sciences Politiques University in Paris, France, on Dec. 1. The title of her dissertation was, “The Making of U.S. Policy with Iran, 2001-2016: The Construction and Reassessment of Strategic Animosity.” Damron, who resides in France, is the daughter of Mary and Breck Montague of Gloucester.

Mackenzie Sullivan of Gloucester, was named to the fall 2021 dean’s list at Berry College in Mount Berry, Georgia. The dean’s list honors students who posted an academic average of 3.5 or better on a 4.0 scale while carrying a class load of at least 12 hours during the semester.
