School briefs

Will Ober graduated cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Northeastern University in Boston, Mass., during commencement ceremonies on Friday. Ober attended Northeastern on a rowing scholarship. He is the son of Jon and Kristen Ober of Mathews, and Gale Meagher, also of Mathews.

Taylor Nicole Saulman received a bachelor of science degree in biology from the University of Mary Washington during commencement ceremonies on Saturday. Saulman is now employed with PPD Inc., a pharmaceutical products development company, where she will be testing new vaccines. She is the daughter of Dale and Penny Saulman of Hayes.

Cameron Cross and Elizabeth Kenerley, both juniors at Gloucester High School, have met requirements to enter the 2012 National Merit Scholarship program.
