Rebecca Thompson of Gloucester, has passed the Virginia State Bar. Thompson graduated summa cum laude from the University of Richmond School of Law in May 2020 and is a member of the Order of the Coif and the Order of the Barristers. Thompson is the daughter of Chuck and Twyla Thompson of Gloucester. A school brief in the Dec. 24, 2020 edition of the Gazette-Journal incorrectly stated that Thompson graduated from the University of Virginia School of Law.

Emma West of Hayes, has been named to the fall 2020 dean’s list at Eastern Mennonite University where she is majoring in Spanish language and Hispanic studies. The dean’s list requires a semester grade point average of at least 3.75 with no withdrawn, incomplete or failing grades for 12 semester hours.
