School briefs

Two Gloucester students received degrees from James Madison University during commencement exercises Dec. 15, 2018. Jamie Lynn Edgerly graduated with a degree in health sciences and Mason Reid Kelly graduated with a degree in sociology. 

Aaron Parr of Gloucester Point, was named to the fall semester dean’s list at the University of Delaware. The recognition requires a grade point average of 3.33 or higher. 

Deborah M. Hayes has successfully completed the requirements to receive her National External Diploma, which she received on Jan. 22 in a personal graduation ceremony held in the Community Room of the Gloucester Library, Main Street Center. She worked with Adult Literacy on the Middle Peninsula, which sponsored the ceremony, to achieve her goal, and she plans to continue her education to become a medical assistant or work in legal studies, a release said.
