Taylor Mason Jacobs graduated cum laude on April 29 from Grand Canyon University, Phoenix, Arizona, with a bachelor’s degree in secondary education.

Jacobs received an associate’s degree in 2013 from Rappahannock Community College and has been employed as a teacher’s aide in Thomas Hunter Middle School. She is the daughter of Robbie Mason of North and Tami Castro of Cobbs Creek, granddaughter of Gordon and Audrey Mason of North, and great-granddaughter of Ed and Vivian Vail of Hallieford. She and her husband Jeremy live at North.

Mathews County native Julie Diggs Nitzsche, pastor of Westover Methodist Church in Stanardsville, received her master of divinity degree on April 29 from Eastern Mennonite University, Harrisonburg.
