Gloucester High School teacher Jackie Outten was among the 12 Hampton Roads area educators each awarded a $500 grant from Langley Federal Credit Union for their financial literacy education efforts. Outten’s class offerings include economics and personal finance.

Jason Michael Harczak of Cobbs Creek graduated from Brenau University, Gainesville, Georgia, with an M.B.A. degree in project management during commencement ceremonies on Dec. 17. Harczak attended online.  

Amanda Rhodes of Gloucester was recently initiated into the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation’s oldest and most selective collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines. Rhodes was initiated at Virginia Commonwealth University.  ...
