Marcia Horner Howlett of Cobbs Creek, was named to the spring semester dean’s list at Saint Leo University. The recognition requires a grade point average of 3.65 or higher. In addition to her full-time employment, Howlett is a full-time student and has earned a 4.0 in each Saint Leo class she has taken.

Jennifer McSweeney, a third grade teacher at Achilles Elementary, has received the $2,000 Emily Nelson Scholarship for 2015, one of three scholarships awarded annually by the Virginia Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Society International. McSweeney is pursuing a doctor of education degree in educational policy, planning and leadership at the College of William and Mary. She is a member of the Gamma Nu Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma.  ...
