School briefs

Lauren Ambrose received a bachelor of arts degree in business and economics from Randolph-Macon College during commencement ceremonies May 30. While at R-MC, Ambrose was inducted into Omicron Delta Epsilon, the International Honor Society in Economics. A 2012 graduate of Mathews High School, she is the daughter of Lawrence and Vicki Ambrose of Cobbs Creek.

Faith Elizabeth Pollard of Gloucester Point graduated cum laude and received a bachelor of arts degree in political science from the University of Mary Washington during commencement ceremonies May 9. Pollard also completed a minor in security and conflict studies. 

Five local residents were named to the spring semester dean’s list at Radford University. They were Ashley Leigh Ann Riedell and Cody Lee Shipley, both of Gloucester, and Jazmine Melvinia Banks, Kelsey Lynn Gibbs and Brianna Trinity Guest, all of Hayes. The recognition requires a 3.4 or higher grade point average.
