Gloucester High School graduate Amanda Hornsby was among 20 Hampton Roads students recently named 2014 Virginia’s Future Leaders Scholarship winners by the Virginia Cable Telecommunications Association, the Donald A. Perry Foundation and Cox Communications. She received a $1,000 award and will attend the University of Virginia’s College at Wise.
Emily Jane Satchell graduated magna cum laude from Virginia Commonwealth University on May 9 and received a bachelor of science degree in mass communications. Satchell had concentrated studies in broadcast journalism and received the VCU Faculty Award as the broadcast student who best exemplifies the standards of the Robertson School of Media and Culture. She is the daughter of Bob and Ellen Satchell of Gloucester.
