The following students were named to the spring semester dean’s list at James Madison University: Virginia Scatchard of Mathews; Sarah Hade and Tyler Rousselle of Hayes; Andrew Brownlee and Malorie Stone of Gloucester Point; and Michael Clements, Christopher Hogge, Holly Jackson, Mary Leigh, Alana Marsh, Morgan Sadler, Rebecca Schmitz, Ellen Stringer, Laura Van Gieson and Daniel Wilmot, all of Gloucester. The recognition requires a grade point average of 3.5 or higher.

Ethan Sabo was named to the spring semester dean’s list at Hampden-Sydney College. The recognition requires a 3.3 or higher grade point average. Sabo is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John M. Sabo of Gloucester. 

U.S. Navy Ensign Patrick M. Sopko received a bachelor of science degree from the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md., during recent commencement ceremonies and was commissioned to his current rank. He is the son of Ronald T. Sopko of Hudgins, and Suzanne M. Sopko of Gloucester.
