School briefs

Matthew Spencer Arrington received a bachelor of arts degree in communication from Christopher Newport University during commencement ceremonies May 10. Arrington also completed minor studies in philosophy. He is the son of the Rev. Larry J. and Angeline S. Arrington of Hayes and the grandson of Agnes Spencer of Gloucester and Fannie Pollard, also of Hayes. 

Susan Bateman and Rebecca Holske, both of Gloucester, were recently initiated into the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi at Old Dominion University. 

Michael Linsinbigler graduated with honors from Christopher Newport University on May 10 with majors in computer science and computer engineering. He has accepted employment with SSAI, a contracting firm for NASA. A 2010 graduate of Mathews High School, Linsinbigler is the son of Richard and Daria Linsinbigler of Mathews.
