Cullin Eppig of Gloucester received his GED on Oct. 28, according to Dawn C. Brown, program coordinator with Literacy Volunteers of Gloucester. Eppig, 19, worked with the volunteer group and earned his GED in less than three months, Brown said. LVG is one of three groups in the area that offers individual and small-group instruction in adult basic skills, GED tutoring and English as a Second Language. Brandon LaPointe of Gwynn, has been selected to be a trombonist for the Virginia Tech Marching Virginians. LaPointe is a sophomore at Virginia Tech majoring in university studies.
