Amanda Boivin of Hayes, graduated magna cum laude with a degree in English from James Madison University during commencement exercises Dec. 19. Other local JMU graduates in December included Derrick Hudgins of Gloucester, who received a degree in management, John May of Hayes, who received a degree in sociology and Kate van Emmerik of Onemo, who received a degree in occupational therapy.
