School brief

John D. Lipscomb graduated on Oct. 19 from Lincoln College of Technology, formerly Nashville Auto Diesel College in Nashville, Tennessee. He specialized in high performance automotive, graduating with a 3.95 cumulative average and winning the President’s Award. He is the son of Kevan and Christine Lipscomb, and grandson of Tom and Carolyn Taylor and the late Carroll and Jennie Lipscomb, all of Gloucester. He was also picked to intern as a crew member at Indianapolis over Labor Day weekend for a top alcohol dragster. The team he was on (Randy Myers Racing, Megan Myers Racing) won a Wally, drag racing’s most prestigious trophy, and since then won the World Championship top alcohol.
