Jacob Cheatham, a 2013 graduate of Gloucester High School, has been awarded a $107,476 United States Army ROTC Scholarship to Marist College in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. Cheatham was presented with the award July 20 during the National Boy Scout Jamboree at the Summit Bechtel Reserve in West Virginia, where he was recognized as a Troop 113 Eagle Scout, as well as an ROTC scholarship recipient. Cheatham also received a Marist Alumni Scholarship of $16,000 and Marist awarded him $39,600 in room and board as an ROTC scholarship recipient. He was a NJROTC cadet and a state champion rower at GHS. He will also row for Marist’s 12-time MAAC championship varsity crew this fall. Cheatham is the son of Brad and Charlene Cheatham of Gloucester.
