School board to discuss Page tonight

The Gloucester County School Board has scheduled a special meeting at 5:30 tonight at Thomas Calhoun Walker Education Center to discuss plans for the new Page Middle School. The meeting is open to the public but there will be no opportunity for public comment, according to board clerk Diane Gamache.

The meeting will be followed by a public forum on synthetic drugs beginning at 7 p.m. in the Walker Education Center auditorium. The forum is sponsored by Gloucester Public Schools along with the Gloucester Sheriff’s Office and the Gloucester Commonwealth Attorney’s Office.

The school board will reconvene Saturday morning for a joint meeting with county supervisors beginning at 9 a.m. in the Main Street Preservation Trust office at 6894 Main Street. The agenda includes the new middle school, Walker Education Center and the former Page Middle School site.

The meeting is open to the public.
