School board meets today

The Gloucester County School Board announced Tuesday that it will hold a special meeting beginning at 5 p.m. Thursday in the T.C. Walker Education Center.

The meeting’s open session is scheduled to last 15 minutes during which the board will consider adopting a resolution that would allow it to conduct electronic meetings as needed.

The board conducted its monthly meetings electronically in April through July due to the COVID-19 pandemic but returned to in-person meetings in August.

County supervisors adopted a continuity ordinance in September that would allow county boards to continue electronic meetings as needed while the virus pandemic continues.

At 5:15 p.m., the school board is scheduled to move into a closed session to consider personnel actions and for a briefing by staff pertaining to actual or probable litigation.
