The Gloucester County School Board made several personnel appointments at its March 12 meeting.
Kenneth DeWitt of York-town, Tiffany Harding of Irvington and Madelyn Junker of Gloucester were all named to elementary teacher positions, grade level and location to be determined (with the exception of Harding at Petsworth Elementary School), effective Aug. 12; Julia Montgomery of Gloucester was named to a special education teacher position, grade level and location to be determined, effective Aug. 12; Juliana Viars of Shacklefords was named to a school counselor position at Peasley Middle School, effective Aug. 1; and Cassie Prisco of Poquoson was named to a regional autism position, location to be determined, effective Aug. 12.
In substitute appointments, Kenneth King was appointed to a substitute bus driver position, effective Feb. 20 and Tina Mawyer was appointed to a substitute teacher position, effective Feb. 28.
The school board also made several reassignments.
Kristina Atkins was reassigned from a 12-month school psychologist position to a 10-month school psychologist position for the division, effective Aug. 14; Stacie Martone was reassigned from a special education position at Page Middle School to the same position at Gloucester High School, effective Aug. 14; Vivian Eccelston was reassigned from a speech language pathology assistant position at Achilles Elementary School moving to the same position at Botetourt Elementary School, effective for the 2024-2025 school year; and Virginia Weaver was reassigned from a 200-day and 7.5 hours per day SLPA position to the same position at three days per week and 7.5 hours per day at Bethel Elementary School.
In separations, the board approved the following.
Joy Calloway retired from teaching kindergarten at Botetourt, effective July 1; Daniel Van Buskirk resigned from a groundskeeper position, effective March 4; Kelly Revere resigned from teaching kindergarten at Petsworth, effective July 1; Joan Deal retired from a paraprofessional position at Peasley, effective July 1; Gary Rippel Jr. verbally resigned from a security officer position and varsity boys’ assistant soccer coach at GHS, effective March 15; Rachel Blankenship resigned as Chief Human Resources Officer, effective April 8; Hector Morales resigned from teaching math at GHS, effective July 1; Shelly Park resigned from a cafeteria worker position at Botetourt, effective June 6; and Amanda Scott resigned from teaching seventh grade science at Page, effective July 1.
