The Gloucester County School Board met last Wednesday, Dec. 10, in the T.C. Walker Education Center auditorium to review new programs of study proposed for Page and Peasley middle schools and Gloucester High School, as well as compensation for employees. The first course discussed was career investigations for middle school students, primarily for those in the sixth grade. Those enrolled in the class would be able to simulate 17 different career fields. “Students need to know what’s available to them,” said superintendent of schools Dr. Anthony Vladu. Another proposal for the 2027-2028 school year would be advanced sixth and seventh grade science courses. In these courses, students would complete sixth grade science, life science and physical science in two years. This will allow these students to take earth science, which is a high school graduation requirement, in the eighth grade.
