School board considers superintendent candidates

The Mathews County School Board was scheduled to hold a closed meeting yesterday to interview prospective candidates for the position of superintendent of schools.

A second special closed-door meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Monday to consider the candidates seeking to replace current Superintendent of Schools Dr. David J. Holleran, who will be stepping down at the end of the 2014-2015 school year.

An announcement of the selected candidate is expected to be made at the board’s Feb. 17 meeting. ...
