School board approves Extension office move

The Gloucester County School Board approved a memorandum of agreement between it and the Virginia Cooperative Extension office during the board’s Nov. 12 meeting at the T.C. Walker Education Center. 

The agreement will allow the Gloucester Extension office to relocate from an aging modular unit on Carriage Court in the Court House to two classroom spaces at the Walker Education Center. 

Extension will be allowed to use the building’s internet system and may be allowed to access other spaces in the facility for meetings if space is available, according to the agreement.

Boy Scout cabin

The board also approved a request from Boy Scout Troop 111 to move forward with its efforts to have its log cabin on Main Street listed in the Virginia Landmarks Register and the National Register of Historic Places.
