SAR chapter awards flag certificate to Boat Club

In a COVID-19 restricted ceremony on Dec. 30, the Richard Henry Lee chapter of the Virginia Society of the Sons of the American Revolution presented a flag certificate of commendation to the Boat Club Ltd. of White Stone.

Paul Carlson of Reedville, the chapter’s Flag Committee chairman, presented the certificate. Also representing RHL at the presentation were Rick Frisbie of Weems and Jim Russell Jr. of Heathsville, the chapter’s president and first vice president, respectively.

Receiving the certificate was Boat Club president William Powell, with club members Fletcher Brown, James Loving and Todd Dabney also in attendance.

The certificate is authorized by the National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution and may be made to individuals and organizations that properly display the American flag, Carlson said.
