SANDRA WARREN WRIGHT

Sandra Warren Wright, 70, of Gloucester, passed away on Monday, March 9, 2015 at Riverside Regional Medical Center.

She was born in Phoebus, Va., and graduated from Hampton High School in 1962. She was the daughter of the late Alice and Russell Barfield and Mattie and Pete Warren.  She was previously employed as the office manager for Dr. Steinberg and Dr. Beresh, and also for BSP Outpatient Services.

She was a member of the Women’s International Bowling Congress and also served on the Board of Directors of the Hampton Women’s Bowling Association for over 20 years. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW Post 3219 in Phoebus, Va.

Sandra and her husband Jack were avid fans of NASCAR and loved going to the races in Richmond. She cherished the time she spent with friends having meals at several local restaurants. Her friends and several of the restaurant staff were like family to her.

Her favorite saying was “The only thing I make for dinner is reservations.” She was unstoppable in her wheelchair and did not let her disabilities get in the way of living life to the fullest. She was loved dearly by her family and friends and always gave her unconditional love.

She is survived by her husband, Jack J. Wright; her children, Chuck Antill and his wife Michelle,  Steve Antill, and Amy Pierro and her husband Jeff; her stepson, Jack Wright and his wife Angie; her grandchildren, Courtney, Lauren, Matthew, Ashley, Amanda, and Ashley. 

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Andrews Funeral Home. A reception will follow the service at Damon & Company.
