Samuel Herbert Driver, 88, lifelong resident of Gloucester, Va., transitioned peacefully to eternity on Saturday, March 24, 2012, with his son, Herbert, and daughter, Kathleen, by his side.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Delores Booth Driver of Gloucester.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Kathleen E. Driver of Mitchellville, Md.; four sons, Fred M. Driver of Baltimore, Md., Jonathan L. Driver of Gloucester, Va., Herbert V. Driver (Arlene) of Hampton, Va., and Randolph S. Driver of Mitchellville, Md.; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Family and friends will gather at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 31, 2012, at Shepherdsville Baptist Church, Ark, Va., for a viewing, followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 11 o’clock, with the Rev. Frederick R. Carter officiating. The family will visit with friends during a repast fellowship immediately following the service.
