The York River Circle of The King’s Daughters and Sons heard a presentation by Suzanne Snyder, founder of the nonprofit Sail Beyond Cancer USA, during a meeting on Oct. 7 at Bellamy United Methodist Church in Gloucester. Snyder discussed the opportunity provided by her organization to take cancer patients or friends on a free, three-hour sail on the York River, giving them time to “leave cancer at the dock.” There are five chapters of the organization on the East Coast.
