Sadie Maria Jones (1929-2016) of Urbanna, Virginia, was called home for eternal rest on July 29, 2016 at the age of 86.

She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church in Saluda, Virginia. Mrs. Sadie was a strong woman, whose soul touched all she encountered. An avid Bingo player, she met new friends everywhere she played.

Mrs. Sadie was preceded in death by her husband, Naamon Jones, and six siblings.

She is survived by her three children, Diane, Larry (Diane) and Valerie; four grandchildren; four great-granddaughters; a brother, Forest Lockley; two sisters, Geraldine Morgan and Ophelia Waddell; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A Homegoing Celebration will be held on Saturday, August 6, 2016, at Antioch Baptist Church; the viewing is from 12-1 p.m. and the service is at 1 o’clock.

Howard Funeral Home of Gloucester is in charge of arrangements.
