Sadie Bell Darnell, 85, of Gloucester, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013, in Riverside Walter Reed Hospital.

She was born on April 5, 1928 in King & Queen County to the late David L. and Nannie Foster Milby.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Rusty Darnell; five brothers, and one sister.

She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Brooks; son, Jimmy Darnell (Janice); her brother, James Milby (Nancy), and sister, Nannie Lee Yarrington (Jimmy); grandchildren, Paula Keener (Greg), Melvin Brooks (Robin), Diana Lazar (Dale), Danielle Darnell, Carey Darnell, Michelle Reynolds, Sharon Ganzhorn, Linda Robertson, and Connie Darnell; 13 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.

The family received friends at the funeral home on Monday, Nov. 4, 2013, from 6:30-8 p.m. Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday in Windsor Gardens Cemetery.
