S. WENDELL PAIGE

S. Wendell Paige of Gloucester, was born July 7, 1941. He departed this life Sunday, March 18, 2018.

He leaves to mourn his loss his wife of 54 years, Pauline Paige; daughter, Wendolyn Paige-Olivis; son-in-law, Iay Langston Olivis; grands, Zakiya Stith (Terrance), Kayla Lindsey, Kevin Olivis, and Kasey Olivis; sister, Regina Lockley; three nephews, Carlton Lockley, James Paige (Wanda), and David Paige (Cherill and daughter Chani); his sister/cousin, Delores Gayle; other close cousins, David Paige (Ed’s son), Rodney Lockley, Ophelia Pollard, Gregory Pollard, and Thelma McMillian; his out-laws as he referred to them: six sisters-in-law, Ethel Jones of Hampton, Shirley Lockhart of Richmond, Mildred Jackson of Newport News, Carolyn Hutchinson of Tappahannock, Priscilla Williams of Gloucester, and Augustine Walker (Roger) of Gloucester; five brothers-in-law, Robert Lemon (Georgia) of Texas, Henry Lemon (Janice) of Hampton, Carl Lemon of Gloucester, Clifton Lemon (Annette) of Highland Springs, and Douglas Lemon of Mathews; other in-laws, Joanne Lemon, Mary C. Lemon, Aubrey Green, and Herbert Hutchinson; many in-law nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins, and friends; the two nieces in-law hanging to the “Y” and close family friends, Joanne Willis, Dana Brown, and Renee Walker; special families of longevity, the Rice and Berry families whose children all grew up with our family.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 24, 2018, at Ebenezer Baptist Church, Cobbs Creek. Interment will be in Gleaning Baptist Church Cemetery, Gloucester. The viewing will be 5-7 p.m. Friday at J.K. Redmond Funeral Home, Shacklefords.
