RUSTY SHANE TODD

Rusty Shane Todd, age 24, of Gwynn’s Island, Va., passed away unexpectedly after a car accident, with his mom, dad and extended family by his side on Sunday, Aug. 16, 2015.

He was born Jan. 29, 1991 at Mary Immaculate Hospital in Newport News, Va., to Debbie and Mark Todd. He graduated from Mathews High School, attended Virginia Tech and worked for IBM. Shane was a devoted son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend. His passions in life were golfing, gaming, and computers.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Florence and James (Joe Boy) Kellum, and his aunt, Yvette Todd.

Besides his parents, he is survived by his brother, Wayne Todd; Len and Winfred Todd (grandparents); Harriet Kellum (Grams); his aunts and uncles, Keith and Derone Todd, Kent and Carlinda Todd, James and Ange Todd, Charles Kellum, Anita Cecil, and cousins, Angela, Craig, Kayla, Kenny, baby Ethan, Kley, Emily, Shanen, Scott, Ann, Jarrod, Paula, Tony and all their spouses and children; Paulette Childress (PawPaw) and Mary Ann DelRosso (MerMer), and Rochelle and Dean Stacey (great-aunt and -uncle) and their children, DJ, Kathy and their children.

Shane was a personable young man and very close to his family. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him. Shane was an organ donor and encouraged everyone to be an organ donor. Due to Shane’s wishes of not wanting a big service, the family received friends from 2-5 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 19 at Foster-Faulkner Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Mathews, Va. Family and friends gathered at Gwynn’s Island Baptist Church afterwards.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made in Shane Todd’s name to Chesapeake Bank for a scholarship for a Mathews High School senior of 2016.

Give someone a hug today; you’ll never know when they need one.
