RUSS DOUGLAS ROBINS

Russ Douglas Robins, 59, a loving father, son, brother, and friend to many, passed away peacefully at his home in Gloucester, Va. on March 22, 2014 after a battle with cancer.

He enjoyed fishing, boating, wakeboarding, golfing, motorcycling, and playing his guitar. He was a service manager at Ken Houtz Chevrolet for 28 years.

Russ was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia Estelle Rilee Robins of Gloucester and is survived by his two children, Caitlin and Connor Robins of Newport News, Va. He is also survived by his father Earl F. Robins Sr. of Gloucester, and his siblings LaVerne Willard, RaNaye Cameron, Earl Robins Jr., Mark Robins, VaNessa Caldwell, ReGina Custis, Neil Robins, LeNora Cole, Jennifer Simpson, Jason Robins, and Victoria Skelding, as well as many nieces and nephews.

In the spirit of how Russ lived his life, we ask that you “Pay It Forward” with an act of kindness and remember Russ with each opportunity. A Russ Robins Memorial Facebook page has been created where friends and family can share their memories of him.

The family will receive friends Thursday, March 27 from 7-8:30 p.m. at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point. The memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 28 at First Presbyterian Church, 6470 Main Street, Gloucester and burial at Petsworth Baptist Church, Gloucester following the memorial service.
