Members of the Abingdon Ruritan Club and guests attended the 9/11 Memorial Ceremony hosted on Saturday, Sept. 11, by the Gloucester DAV chapter. Club president David Onesty and Don Sciria, chairman of the club’s Citizenship and Patriotism Committee, presented a wreath at the gathering. Other activities included the flag raising, Pledge of Allegiance, National Anthem and playing of “Taps.” Those representing the club at the event included, from left, Dottie Dea, David Dea, Mike Ekdahl, Bunny Ekdahl, Sciria, Selena Collins, Frank Collins, David Kyle, Jerlyn Hale, Will Hale, Sid Dugas, Yvonne Scales, Allen Scales, Mary Lou Shepherd, Eva Tillage, Lynn Onesty, Frank Gillerlain and Onesty.
