The 12th annual Virginia Run for the Fallen made its way through Gloucester County last week, an event held to honor and remember fallen servicemen and women. The runners began in Virginia Beach early last Thursday morning, and a little after 3 p.m. they had crossed the Coleman Bridge, with the first stop on this side of the York River at Whitley’s Peanuts. Waiting there for them were Gold Star family members of Sgt. Phillip Brian Keatts and Lt. Col. Christopher E. Round, two of the heroes commemorated at that stop. The runners eventually made it all the way to Arlington National Cemetery on Sunday.
