Rufus “Raymond” Robinson of Blakes, a U.S. Air Force veteran, died on Oct. 18, 2025.

He worked at Newport News Shipbuilding, and helped to build the original Coleman Bridge. He was born on Nov. 14, 1933.

Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Helen Lewis Robinson, and two sons, Vincent Robinson and Pastor Eric Robinson.

A funeral service will be held at Ebenezer Baptist Church, Cobbs Creek, at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 26, with a viewing from 1:30-2:30 at the church.

Forrest Brothers Funeral Home, Hudgins, is in charge of arrangements.
