Ruby May Brown, age 76, of Hayes, died on Wednesday, January 14, 2026. Ruby was born on September 21, 1949 to the late William and Ida Mae Testament Hall. Ruby worked at Food Lion and enjoyed her time as a waitress at Sutton’s Restaurant. She spent her free time working in her yard, but what she loved most of all was traveling with and spending time with her husband. Ruby was preceded in death by her soulmate, Lank Brown Sr. She is survived by her children, Sylvia Britton, Susie Robins, and Lisa Ayers; 13 grandchildren, a host of great-grandchildren, and siblings, Richard Hall and Faye Moore. In memory of Ruby, contributions may be made to Riverside Hospice, 7358 Main Street, Gloucester, Va. 23061. Services will be held at a later date.
