RUBY HAYES ‘AUNTIE’ WHITMORE INGRAM

Ruby Hayes “Auntie” Whitmore Ingram, 87, of Moon, Virginia, passed away on Sunday, April 11, 2021. She was born to Almon and Velma Hayes on Nov. 26, 1933 in Quitman, Mississippi. Ruby loved people and she was loved by all who knew her. She was a member of Salem United Methodist Church, Diggs, Virginia, for over 50 years.

She was predeceased by her husbands, Ashby D. Whitmore and Alvin H. Ingram Sr.

Ruby is survived by her niece and daughter of her heart, Shirley Daniel (Ronald); brother, Almon “Sonny” Hayes (Iwana); sister, Carolyn Kennedy (Horace); grandson, Wayne Daniel; granddaughter, Laura Leigh Cross; great-granddaughters, Madalyn and Taryn Cross; great-grandson, Zachary Daniel, and her extended family whom she dearly loved: stepsons, Alvin Ingram Jr. (Danna) and David Ingram (Margie); grandchildren, Jennifer Holcombe (David), Scott Ingram (Lora), Michelle McCarty (Jimmy), Tracey Papas (Chris), and Carolyn Marr (Alex); great-grandchildren, Morgan Holcombe (Omar), Trey, Brent, and Jacob Holcombe, Kelsey Hostvedt (Coleman), Ryan and Nolan McCarty, Blaise and Grant Ingram, Connor and Nick Papas, and Griffin Marr; great-great-grandson, Adam Abu Hantash, and some very special people to her, Ashby Morgan and Robin Dehoux.

The family would like to thank Riverside Hospice, Marie, Gina, Angela and Brenda for their excellent care and compassion.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 15, 2021, from 1-2 p.m. at Faulkner Funeral Homes, Foster-Faulkner Chapel, Mathews, with a funeral service beginning at 2 o’clock. Burial will follow at Friendship Cemetery, Susan, Virginia. Please be advised that current state-mandated guidelines will apply to all in attendance, including social distancing and appropriate face coverings.
