Roving Ranger to visit Machicomoco

The Roving Ranger mobile visitor center will visit Machicomoco State Park, Hayes, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday for a pop-up program focused on indigenous and colonial watermen of the Chesapeake Bay.

Park guests are invited to stop by the mobile visitor center at any time during the visit to learn about topics including indigenous and colonial ways of navigating and mapping the waters of the bay. Rangers will also discuss how native people made use of the Chesapeake’s abundant natural resources and how those resources are still important today.
