Rosewell Ruins open for 2018 season

The 2018 season at the Rosewell Plantation Ruins opened this past Sunday with a new Civil War exhibit and an expanded 18th and 19th century narrative.

Regular operating hours are 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and 1-4 p.m. Sundays.

“We are looking forward to this new season,” Executive Director Katrina White Brown said, “because we have created some exciting new educational opportunities for our visitors.”

The Visitors Center is featuring a new Civil War exhibit, including authentic medical and military artifacts, battle armaments, bibles, books, clothing, pictures, and other articles from the era. It also features letters, personal accounts, and images that engage visitors in an understanding of how soldiers, presidents, freedmen and families struggled during this explosive and transformative period in American history.
