Rosetta Ruth Brown Evans, 90, widow of John E. Evans, departed this life on Friday, Sept. 5, 2014.

She was a native of Gloucester and a member of Union Zion Baptist Church, Gloucester, Va.

Survivors include sisters, Ruby B. Jones of Washington, D.C., and Ida V. Anderson of New Jersey; caregivers, Dale Montague and Ralph Cooke, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 12 in Union Zion Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Evans will lie in state from noon until service time.
