Rosa Marie Smith Lollis, 80, of Hayes, died September 19, 2016.

Rosa was born May 1, 1936, in Bena, and was a daughter of the late Frank and Lillian Smith. She was a lifelong resident of Gloucester and worked for 30 plus years in the supermarket industry, lastly at Farm Fresh Supermarket, Hayes. Rosa greeted everyone with her warm smile followed by her cheerful “Hello darling, how are you?”

She enjoyed cooking and baking, especially cakes, and her flowers. Rosa was passionate about her family and never stopped attending to their needs even after they became adults. She always worked hard, loved her God, her children and grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by so many.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond T. Lollis Sr.; parents; two children, William Sidney Lollis and infant boy Lollis; son-in-law, Christopher Creech, and sisters and brothers.

She is survived by her daughters, Barbara Schuette (Doug) and Sheila Creech; son, Raymond T. Lollis Jr. (Nancy); grandchildren, Justin Byrd, Keith Ray Lollis and Katelynn Lollis; special son-in-law, Bernard Lee West (Janie); sister, Thelma Oliver; brother, Francis Smith, and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family received friends Wednesday, September 21, 2016, from 7-8:30 p.m. at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point. A celebration of life conducted by the Rev. Bob Robbins will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, September 22, 2016, at Hogg Funeral Home. Inurnment will be private.
