ROSA LEE MYERS

A Celebration of Life Service for Rosa Lee Myers, 84, of Gloucester, was held at noon Tuesday, Dec. 5, in First Morning Star Baptist Church, Bena. She died Nov. 30, 2017.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Gary and Elizabeth Stokes; sisters, Hattie Kyle and Ethel Lee, and brothers, Willie Stokes and George Burrell.

Mrs. Myers was a member of First Morning Star Baptist Church, where she served as a deaconess, Sunday school member, Pastor Aide’s Ministry member, Bible Study Member Bulletin Editor and Vacation Bible School teacher. She was also a member of the Gloucester Deacons Union and Women’s Auxiliary.

She retired from the Gloucester County Public School System after serving as a reading paraprofessional for 31 years.

Survivors include five children, Janice M. Poirier of Jupiter, Florida, Faye M. Washington and Robert Myers, both of Hayes; Gale M. Gibson and Dale M. McLean, both of Lake Worth, Florida; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a sister, Doris Hardrick of Newport News.

The service was conducted by the Rev. Larry J. Arrington. Interment followed in Rosewell Memorial Gardens, Hayes.

Memorial donations may be sent to the Building Fund of First Morning Star Baptist Church.
