Romney announces running mate selection at Norfolk event

The “Romney Plan for a Stronger Middle Class” bus tour rolled into Norfolk Saturday morning as a one-man show, but rolled back out with “America’s Comeback Team” on board after Mitt Romney announced Wisconsin Congressman Paul Ryan as his choice for vice president.

 

The rally for Romney was held on the rear patio of Nauticus, with the U.S.S. Wisconsin docked alongside, towering in the background.

 

Romney’s appearance was heralded by Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell, Lt. Gov. Bill Bolling, and Senate candidate and former Virginia Gov. George Allen.

 

Bolling called this year’s election a “defining moment” and said that Romney is “the right person with the right experience at the right time to get America on the right track.”
