ROMCA

Members of the Retired Officers of Mathews County Association—better known as ROMCA—gathered on Wednesday, March 15, at Olivia’s in the Village, Gloucester, for the group’s monthly meeting. ROMCA is a group of retired military officers from all branches of the service which offers fellowship that lasts long after the uniforms are hung in the back of the closet, a release stated. The organization was founded in 1988 by CDR. E. Travers Thompson (U.S. Navy-ret.) who decided there was a need for an organization for the many retired officers living in Mathews County and the surrounding area. The group, which currently has 51 members, welcomes any former military officer with camaraderie and friendship. Dues are $10 a year. If interested in becoming a member, contact LTC Fred Wynn (U.S. Air Force-ret.) at polarb82120@gmail.com or just come to the next meeting at Richardson’s Café in Mathews at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 12.
