Roland Bowman, 74, of Moon, died on Sunday, Jan. 18, 2026.

He was an accomplished musician; played in the Navy band, and also played the piano and guitar for the Church of Francis de Sales in Mathews.

He was predeceased by his father, Donald Bowman, and his mother, Josephine Dougher.

Survivors include his daughter, Shannon; son, Isaac, both of Kentucky, and his sisters, Lillian, Mary, and Lisa.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, Jan. 22, from 10-11 a.m. at Church of Francis de Sales, Mathews. A funeral service will be held at the church at 11, with burial to follow in Milford Cemetery, Moon.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Church of Francis de Sales, 176 Lovers Lane, Mathews, Va. 23109, or a favorite charity.

Faulkner Funeral Homes, Foster-Faulkner Chapel, Mathews, is assisting the family.
