ROGER IAN BUCHANAN

Roger Ian Buchanan of Gloucester, is now again with his beloved wife, Mabel, having passed peacefully on Aug. 20, 2015.

He was born in New Hampshire on June 27, 1929. Roger served in the U.S. Army and retired from NASA as a Mechanical Engineer. He retired early because he wanted to be home to spend time with his “Bride” Mabel, who was the centerpiece of his life.

Roger was always a dedicated and loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. He would happily attend any event scheduled for his grandchildren and was proud of their accomplishments. He will be remembered and missed by all.

He is survived by his daughters, Molly B. McFerrin, Melodie B. Collins and Bernideen Canfield; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, and a brother, Lewis Buchanan.

A funeral service conducted by the Rev. Dr. Richard Croxton was held at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 24, 2015, at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point. Interment with military honors followed in Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery.
