Rodney Allen Hugate, “Bubba,” of Suffolk, passed away Tuesday, March 19, 2013.

Formerly of Mathews, Rodney graduated from Staunton Military Academy and Virginia Tech University. He was owner/operator of A-1 Cab of Virginia Beach.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rodney and Marion Lee Hugate.

He is survived by his wife, Wanda Hugate; daughter, Heather Miles; sister, Judy Phillips (Jimmy); step-son, Michael Ellis; step-daughter, Phylicia Ellis; and two grandsons, Brandon and Jackson Miles.

The family received friends Sunday, March 24, 2013, from 2-3 p.m. in Foster-Faulkner Funeral Home, Mathews. A funeral service was held at 3 p.m. in the funeral home chapel and burial followed in Windsor Gardens Cemetery, Dutton.
